About the team: 

Tapestry, is X’s moonshot for the electric grid.  We are a team of software engineers, power systems experts and clean energy geeks  who are  impatient to tackle climate change head on through our energy system. Tapestry is on a mission to make the world’s electric grid visible so everyone, everywhere can access clean, affordable and  reliable energy. We are working with partners around the world to create AI powered  tools that will help everyone who works with the grid build and manage a carbon-free and secure electricity system.

Currently incubating at X, Alphabet’s innovation lab, we are now building the team that will scale Tapestry for more global impact. About the role:

As the Administrative Business Partner, you're at the heart of your team's operations and activities and the soul that keeps your team moving forward. You anticipate the needs of your execs(s) and team members and help them stay focused on their projects by resolving operational and administrative issues before they arise. You move quickly with the changing environment and are able to be flexible and proactive in ambiguous situations. You also use your knowledge of tools and processes to strategically support your team's projects. In addition to being organized and analytical, you possess the strong judgment and communication skills needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions.

Our ABPs are invited to take on challenging and meaningful program management and leadership tasks,  look at challenges from new angles, and ask “what if?” on a regular basis.  We are working together to make the impossible possible, and our ABPs are both the duct tape vital to making that happen and the lightning rods that carry our culture! 

 

Responsibilities + How you will make 10x impact:

  • Empower Leadership: Own the administrative landscape (calendars, travel, facilities, equipment) like a pro, ensuring our executives are free to focus on strategic priorities and initiatives. Your ability to zoom in on the details without losing sight of the big picture is key. When you’re at your best, the executive team is showing up with their best foot forward at some of the world’s biggest climate and energy stages, and also ready to problem solve the gnarliest challenges in productive 1:1 and team settings. You are directly influencing the Tapestry team’s ability to operate at its most productive, and in so doing you are driving meaningful change in the world.
  • Be the Engine: Drive operational excellence as a central force within the team, constantly seeking ways to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and foster seamless collaboration across functions, fueling our rapid growth and scalability. You 
  • Connect the Dots: Be a rockstar coordinator, fostering strong relationships within X, across Alphabet, and with our external partners. Your knack for building bridges and identifying and proactively seeking solutions is essential. 
  • Innovate & Elevate: Don't just maintain the status quo – challenge it! Build efficiency and responsiveness into our existing operations and help shape new strategies that keep us ahead of the curve.
  • Lead the Charge: Take ownership of diverse projects, big and small. Your strong project management skills will guide initiatives to successful completion.

 

What you should have:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of direct executive support while balancing longer-term program manager duties and project(s)

 

It would be great if you also had these:

  • Proven experience providing support to executives, demonstrating expertise in managing intricate calendars and consistently maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions
  • Strong project management skills, planning and prioritization skills, the ability to multitask and be adaptable
  • Ability to read situations bringing a balance of previous expertise to the table while also knowing when to seek new answers or learn new tools and technologies
  • Possess  a genuine love for internal communications, excel at organizing engaging All Hands meetings and offsites, enjoy planning memorable events, and is dedicated to fostering a positive team culture.
  • Experience standing up new processes, identifying and retiring ineffective programs, and rallying a team around new ways of working
  • Embraces continuous learning, actively seeks feedback, and encourages a culture of innovation  within the team.
  • Passion for entrepreneurial teams, creatively doing more with less, bringing joy to the workspace, and making the world a little bit better.

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $73,000 - $110,000 + bonuses + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
